I’ve had this in my head for several days. Probably because I’m still reading Lydon’s book. I still have the 12” version somewhere…

Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.
Henri Matisse
“An artist should never be a prisoner of himself, prisoner of style, prisoner of reputation, prisoner of success.”

thesobsister asked: Thanks for the Delvaux piece. I'd never seen it or heard of him. That classicist focus that some of the Surrealists had, I love seeing it. Cheers.
Yes, definitely a softer, more feminine piece than you will often see from the surrealists, albeit dark. I also enjoy the classicist influence. I’m not overly familiar with his work either, but I may delve further now.. :)
surrealism: L’echo by Paul Delvaux, 1943. Oil on canvas.

# of giant flying bush cockroaches smashed in my house with a shoe several times (those fuckers take at least 3 hits to die) since I arrived home one hour ago?

Sitting in airconditioning at my mum’s place.
Listening to my favourite radio station that plays only music from the 1930s to the 1970s…
Tennis on mute on the telly.
Just had the aircon in my car fixed. Apparently it never worked. I thought it was just crap airconditioning, but it wasn’t plugged in the whole 16 years I have owned the car.
Haha.
And I’m not hot!
Life is good (until I get home to the hot box…)
Another photo of the lightning during the fireworks last night over the Swan River in Perth. There was so much lightning… it was like nature saying “now THIS is how you do fireworks…” Photo by Matt Titmanis.
Photo taken last night by Richard Huynh of the spectacular natural lightshow that was going on during the Australia Day Perth Skyworks. (annual fireworks show). I could see this from my house.
